Explore two of the most secluded and unique mountain regions of Georgia, Tusheti and Khevsureti, located on the northern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Take the tour through mysterious and picturesque villages with medieval towers such as Omalo, Dartlo, Mutso and Shatili, and explore the specific traditions of the ancient Tush and Khevsur people. Hike through breathtaking landscapes, including the 3431 meters high Atsunda Pass, dividing the two regions.
| Day 1: Departure | Early morning pick-up from Tbilisi, short visit of Telavi city and Alaverdi Monastery (6th century). Going by jeeps to Omalo, a principal village in Tusheti. Visiting Lower and Upper Omalo. Staying in a local guesthouse. |
| Day 2: Adventure Begins | Jeep tour to the Tushetian villages: Diklo, Shenako, Dartlo, Chesho, Pharsma, lunch with a local family. Jeep trip to Girevi. Staying in a local guesthouse. |
| Day 3: Girevi – Kvakhidi meadows | Full day hike (about 14km). Camping at the shepherds’ shelter camp place at Kvakhidi. |
| Day 4: Atsunda Pass | Full day hike (about 16km) over Atsunda Pass at an altitude of 3431m. Camping on the other side of Atsunda Pass. |
| Day 5: Khevsureti villages | Descending down to Khevsureti villages. Visiting Mutso, the Eagle’s Nest, a typical architectural tower complex. Arriving in Shatili, accommodation in a local guesthouse. |
| Day 6: Back to civilisation | Exploring Shatili village (UNESCO), leaving by jeeps, visiting Ananuri fortress (17th century, UNESCO) and Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. Arrival in Tbilisi. |
