Tusheti - Khevsureti Pass

Short text: Explore two most secluded and unique mountain regions of Georgia, Tusheti and Khevsureti, located on the northern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Take the tour through the mysterious and picturesque villages with the medieval towers such as Omalo, Dartlo, Mutso and Omalo, explore the specific traditions of ancient Tushi and Kevsuri people. Hike through the breathtaking landscapes, including 3431 meters high Atsunda Pass, dividing the two regions.

Tour Plan
Day 1: Departure Early morning pick-up from Tbilisi, short visit of Telavi city and Alaverdi Monastery from 6th century). Going by jeeps to Omalo, a principal village in Tusheti. Visiting Lower and Upper Omalo. Saying in a local guesthouse.
Day 2: Adventure Begins Jeep tour to the Tushetian villages: Diklo, Shenako, Dartlo, Chesho, Pharsma, lunch at the local family. Jeep trip to Girevi. Saying in a local guesthouse.
Day 3: Girevi - Kvakhidi meadows Full day hike (about 14km). Camping at the shepherds’ shelter camp place at Kvakhidi.
Day 4: Atsunda Pass Full day hike (about 16km) over Atsunda pass at the altitude of 3431m. Camping at the other side of Atsunda pass.
Day 5: Khevsureti villages Descending down to Khevsureti villages. Visiting Mutso - The Eagles Nest - typical architecture tower complex. Arriving to Shatili, accommodation in a local guesthouse.
Day 6: Back to the civilisation Exploring Shatili village (UNESCO), leaving by jeeps, visiting Ananuri fortress (17th Century, UNESCO) and Mtskheta, the ancient capital to Georgia. Arrival to Tbilisi.
