Hiking in Svaneti

Preserved by its long isolation and inaccessibility, the Svaneti region is an exceptional combination of breathtaking mountain scenery with beautiful medieval-type villages and tower-houses. The entire area is a part of UNESCO Cultural Heritage. Hiking is an amazing way to discovering this region, with its unforgettable landscapes, magical waterfalls and snow-topped mountain peaks and exploration of its ethnographic wonders.

Tour Plan
Day 1: Adventure Begins Pick-up from Kutaisi airport or from Tbilisi, lunch in Zugdidi, going to Mazeri village, on the bottom of Ushba mountain. Visiting natural mineral water source. Dinner and accommodation in the local guesthouse.
Day 2: Visiting waterfall and Ushba glacier Hike to the Shdugra waterfall and Ushba Glacier (about 9 hours). Returning to Mazeri village.
Day 3: Guli Pass Horseback tour to Koruldi lakes through Guli Pass (2960m). Hike with beautiful panoramic views (about 8 hours). Camping by the lakes.
Day 4: Mestia - the medieval capital Jeep tour to Mestia, sightseeing, visiting ethnographic museum. Cable car trip to Hatsvali mountain. Walking back to Mestia, accommodation and dinner in the local guesthouse.
Day 5: Ushguli - The highest settlement Jeep tour to Ushguli - the highest populated settlement in Europe (2200m). Visiting Lamaria monastery complex from 9th century. Hike to Shkhara glacier. Departure to Kutaisi. Dinner and accommodation in Kutaisi.
